Together we are stronger. That is why we are pleased to announce that Re:Match will be cooperating with Right to Protection this year!

After the successful Re:Match pilot phase in 2023, we are now looking forward to starting the second phase together! In the coming weeks, we will apply our experience and learnings from last year to once again match Ukrainian refugees with German cities and support them in their relocation.

Who is the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation and what role will it play in Re:Match?

R2P is a leading human rights organization in Ukraine that provides support to those seeking protection in and from Ukraine. The foundation runs programs to provide legal, psychological and material support to internally displaced persons and the war-affected population, as well as social support and human rights protection. In order to support Ukrainians who have fled to other countries as a result of the Russian war of aggression, R2P opened a representative office in Warsaw together with HIAS Europe.

As part of Re:Match, R2P approaches people seeking protection from Ukraine and informs them about the possibility of relocation to a German city or town. Together with the Berlin Governance Platform, R2P conducts interviews with Ukrainian refugees in order to identify their needs and preferences and to match them with a suitable city. Once a match has been made, R2P helps to coordinate travel arrangements.
